During her 18 months in the show, she eventually replaced Dianne Keaton; becoming the first black actress to replace a white actress is a lead role on Broadway.  In 1996 history repeated itself the third time when Melba took over the role of "Fantine" in the Broadway musical Les Miserables. She was the first Black actress to step into the leading role in that milestone Broadway musical. Her credits include "The Melba Moore / Clifton Davis Show," the mini-series "Ellis Island," R & B and POP hits "This Is It," "You Stepped Into My Life," and her Grammy nominated signature song, "Lean On Me."

It wasn't long before Jai began paving the road to a successful career in show business.  As the “Culture Vulture” on Bravo's hit show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Jai used his skills and social charisma to coach men on everything from working the room in a social setting to feeling comfortable on the dance floor.  As a performer, he was selected to play Angel in the hit Broadway musica RENT at the age of 17. He later landed the lead role of Zanna in the off-Broadway musical hit Zanna, Don't! and a role as Patrick Chibas in the Lincoln Center play Spinning Into Butter with Hope Davis. Jai added to his acting credits with television and film roles that included All My Children and The New Guy.

In addition to being featured on two cast albums, landing in third would find the Last-Girl-Standing taking part in the national Idol concert tour. Shortly after the tour ended, Locke released her Curb Records debut album "One Love," which features the #1 Billboard Single Sales hit "8th World Wonder," as well as "Wrong," "Over the Rainbow," and the top 10 AC smash, "I Could."  Signed with Ford Modeling Agency, she is in her second year as spokes-model for the popular fashion retailer Lane Bryant and is currently seen in the national campaign.

gle_image008.jpgAward-winning, show-stopping singer and actress Jennifer Holliday is a singer's singer, a diva with a God-given gift for vocal interpretation who leaves audiences breathless.  Holliday is best known for her acclaimed performance of Effie Melody White in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, winning the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. In 1995, she returned to Broadway, appearing as the Teen Angel in a revival of the popular musical Grease.  Holliday, a two-time Grammy award winner, has recorded five chart-making CD’s for Arista, Geffen, and Interground Records. The Best Of Jennifer Holliday: The Millennium collection” on Universal Records is her most recent release.

gle_image007.jpgStephen Schwartz is an award winning musical theatre composer and lyricist currently represented on Broadway with the award winning production of Wicked.  In 1971 he wrote music and new lyrics for Godspell, for which he won several awards including two Grammys. This was followed by the English texts, in collaboration with Leonard Bernstein, for Bernstein's Mass, which opened the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.  Two years later, he wrote music and lyrics to The Magic Show which ran for just under 2000 performances. Moviegoers would recognize his work from the Disney animated feature Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Dreamworks’ The Prince of Egypt.  Schwartz has won every major award in his field (3 Oscars, 5 Grammys, 3 Drama Desk Awards and a self-described "tiny handful of tennis trophies") except the Tony Award, for which his scores have been nominated numerous times but have never won.
